In an effort to clean up my social media presence, I decided that years of memes containing “inspirational” rambling and incoherent thoughts were probably worth getting rid of.
Fast forward to an email from LiveJournal congratulating me on my 18th year on the platform.
Wait…what?
I honestly forgot that it even existed! How is this still up? How do I delete this? And why was I so whiny? Then it dawned on me, it was the 2000’s; what else was there to do but bitch about your emo feelings and reference song lyrics?
However, among the less angsty posts was this gem from May 13th, 2008. This post features some of my college photography photos, one of my favorites because I was able to replicate or reinterpret iconic images, creating pieces like “Addicted to Peas” and “Like A Movie.”
In my wildest fantasies, the photo of my dear friend Mallory “snorting” peas is hanging in some modern, NYC-chic museum.
I wonder what other gem I’ll find next.
